Chelsea, De Bruyne react as Hazard retires from international duty at 31

Manchester City midfielder, Kevin de Bruyne and EPL club Chelsea have reacted to Belgium captain Eden Hazard’s retirement from international football.

Hazard made the announcement of his retirement from Belgium national team on Wednesday at the age of 31, following their elimination from the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar a few days ago.

Hazard, who is currently signed to Real Madrid star, in a post via his Instagram account, wrote,

“Thank you for your unparalleled support. Thank you for all this happiness shared since 2008.”

The Real Madrid star added, “I have decided to put an end to my international career. The succession is ready. I’ll miss you.”

Reacting to Hazard’s post, Chelsea wrote on Instagram, “One of the all-time Belgian greats!”

De Bruyne on his part said the former Chelsea talisman will be missed.

The Man City midfielder wrote on Twitter, “What a journey it has been. Congratulations Capi. You’ll be missed!”

Hazard made 126 caps and scored 33 goals.
