Chelsea could be in a big mess soon if they are unable to reach agreements with three of their defenders in the persons of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta.

This comes as the three defenders are currently in the last five months of their current contract with the Blues.

With this, the defenders are free to commence contract talks with foreign clubs, and as of now, the three of them have been linked with top clubs in Europe.

While Chelsea have tabled new contracts before them, especially Rudiger and Christensen, who the Blues hope to keep at Stamford Bridge, it seems the players are not satisfied with what is being offered and are ready to leave this summer.

Transfer expert Dean Jones while reactions to the situation, stressed that if Chelsea allow Rudiger, Christensen and Azpilicueta to depart, then manager Thomas Tuchel will be left extremely short of options at the heart of the defence.

This is because Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr and Trevor Chalobah are the only other natural options at centre-back, and Jones believes the whole situation is a ‘mess’.

He told GiveMeSport: “I think it’s a bit of a shambles really that Chelsea are still in this in this mess. As I understand it, Rudiger’s not any closer to signing for Chelsea.”
