Chelsea considered favourites over rivals for the signature of £70m transfer target
2021 Champions League winner Chelsea are considered the favourite to sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice despite interest from Manchester United.
Rice is considered one of the best midfielders in Europe, and his good form over the past few seasons has not gone unnoticed.
The likes of Manchester City and Manchester United are reportedly willing to add him to their squad, with Chelsea also on his heels since last summer.
Chelsea have now been given fresh hope as reports claim he will be eager to move to Stamford Bridge due to his connection with some blues player.
According to Eurosport, Rice is now valued at more than £70million this summer after his superb form for West Ham.
However, Chelsea’s link with the player in the past has given them an edge over Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool in the race for his signature.
Rice and Mason Mount are also good friends off the pitch, and Chelsea are hoping this will help in sorting out a deal for him.
Both Mount and Rice represent England in the Euro 2020 tournament, and a deal might be sorted after the competition.
