Chelsea will be busy in the summer transfer window as they plan to sign new players.

Aside from ongoing plans to sign a new striker, Chelsea have also been linked with moves for a new defender.

Recent report claim the Blues have identified an alternative central defender after one of their main targets for the summer transfer window may be heading elsewhere.

While reports claim the Blues would like to Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen in order to improve their defence, however, it was widely claimed on Thursday that the Spain international could join Real Madrid after Los Blancos opted to activate his £50m release clause.

Lazio centre-back Mario Gila is now said to be on the Blues radar.

Gila has been a regular for Lazio in the 2024-25 season, making a total of 34 starts and six substitute outings in Serie A and the Europa League.
