The latest report claim Chelsea and Barcelona have reached an agreement in principle for Spain international César Azpilicueta.

According to the report, the deal for Azpilicueta is expected to be around four and five million euros.

The Spaniard’s future at Chelsea has been in doubt this summer amid intense transfer rumours linking him to Camp Nou.

Previous reports disclosed he has already agreed on personal terms with Barcelona and is likely to sign for two seasons with an option for a third season.

With the look of things, the Blues captain may soon have to leave their camp during their US tour and meet up with Barcelona’s US tour, where he could have his medicals like Robert Lewandowski, who recently joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich.

Chelsea have been rumoured to be working out a deal to bring in another defender as a replacement, with Josko Gvardiol, from RB Leipzig, being the target.

Azpilicueta has the ability to play either as a right-back or a central defender, making him a plus for Barca.
