The January transfer window is on, and one of the trending transfer rumours has claimed that EPL clubs Chelsea, West Ham United and Newcastle United are a part of five clubs who have shown interest to sign Everton left-back Lucas Digne.

The 28-year-old defender is on his way out of Goodison Park this month after he fell out with Everton manager Rafael Benitez.

Since their fallout, Benitez has refused to start the France international in any of Everton’s last six matches.

According to Sky Sports News, Chelsea, West Ham, Newcastle and a fourth unnamed Premier League club are all interested in signing Digne either permanently or on loan this month.

The report added that Italian Serie A club Napoli are also in the race to recruit the defender on a temporary deal with an option to buy next summer.

The report added that the Toffees value Digne, who is out of contract on Merseyside in June 2025, at around £30m.

Digne joined Everton from Barcelona in 2018 and had been a key player, making 127 appearances in all competitions.

The French defender would be a good addition for Chelsea as they are set to miss Ben Chilwell for the rest of the season over a knee injury.
