Renato Veiga who is Chelsea’s fifth signing this summer transfer window under new manager, Enzo Maresca, has expressed his excitement after joining the Premier League club.

This comes as Veiga officially became a Chelsea player on Friday after joining them from FC Basel.

According to the reports, the multi talented 20-year-old penned a seven-year deal with the Blues, including the option of a further year.

He is Chelsea’s fifth signing of the summer following completion of deals for Leicester’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Aston Villa’s Omari Kellyman, Barcelona’s Marc Guiu and Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo.

Speaking via Chelsea’s official website, Veiga said “I’m absolutely buzzing to be here.”

He also described Chelsea as one of the biggest clubs in England, the biggest for him and he is just really excited to get started.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are still in the race for a striker that can score goals as they are keen on creating competition for Nicolas Jackson at the front.

The Blues will be hoping to compete for trophies next season having finished on the sixth spot last campaign under former manager Mauricio Pochettino who left the club after a mutual agreement.
