Liverpool are the latest winner of the Carabao League trophy, which is the first domestic league final to be played in England this season.

The Reds, led by Jurgen Klopp, won the trophy at Wembley Stadium on Sunday evening after they defeated Chelsea.

Liverpool beat Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea 11-10 on penalties shootouts to emerge the winner of the trophy for a record ninth time.

As of now, the Reds are now three trophies short of an unprecedented quadruple this season.

Liverpool won the match as Chelsea manager Tuchel made last minute changes by bringing in Kepa Arrizabalaga to replace Edouard Mendy.

This is because of the belief that Kepa was good at saving penalties; the Spaniard would, however, end up not saving a single goal.

After 20 successful penalties, Caoimhin Kelleher was the Liverpool star, first stepping up to make it 11-10 and then seeing Kepa Arrizabalaga smash his spot kick high over the bar to settle the tough match.

Liverpool will now focus on winning the EPL as they are currently six points behind Man City, who are topping the table.
