Carabao Cup final: Pochettino gives update on Silva, Sanchez
Chelsea managed Mauricio Pochettino will this weekend face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.
Ahead of the match, Pochettino considered his team selection as he revealed Brazil defender Thiago Silva’s chances of returning for the final.
Recall that Silva missed Chelsea’s last week’s 1-1 draw at Manchester City after sustaining an injury in the preceding victory at Crystal Palace.
The Argetine disclosed he has a good idea of what his starting line-up against the Reds will be, including whether Djordje Petrovic will continue between the posts or make way for the fit-again Robert Sanchez, but is keeping his cards close to his chest for now.
‘We need to assess a few players still to see if they can be involved on Sunday,’ said Pochettino.
‘We will know tomorrow if we can recover some players from injury.
‘Thiago has a chance, tomorrow we will see if he is ready to be involved in the game.
‘I have decided who will be the goalkeeper. 99 per cent my team is in my head. I have not told the players yet because always, anything can happen. So I prefer to wait until tomorrow, or maybe after tomorrow.’
