Brighton manager, Roberto De Zerbi has expressed appreciation to former Chelsea manager Graham Potter for building a strong team.

De Zerbi made this known while reacting to Brighton’s 2-1 win over the Blues on Saturday.

Recall that Chelsea lured Potter away from Brighton to take over from Thomas Tuchel last year.

However, the West London side finally sacked Potter before the end of the season and brought in interim manager Frank Lampard as his replacement.

Meanwhile, De Zerbi has found success at Amex since replacing Potter.

“I have to say thanks to Graham Potter because I found a very great and strong team and I am now trying to give my idea,” the Italian said after the game.

Brighton are currently seated at the seventh spot on the EPL table with 49 points, while Chelsea remain 11th with 39 points.
