Benjamin Sesko Edges Closer to Arsenal Move Amid £88.5m Agreement and Gyokeres Shift

Arsenal appear to be closing in on the signing of Benjamin Sesko, with the RB Leipzig striker now emerging as the club’s primary centre-forward target for the summer transfer window.
The Gunners have long been in the market for a proven goalscorer to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s squad ahead of the 2025/26 season. Both Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres had been on Arsenal’s radar, but recent developments suggest the club has shifted its focus fully toward the Slovenian international.
According to reports from Germany, Arsenal and Leipzig have reached a broad agreement over a transfer, though the final fee has not been officially disclosed. Previous rumours placed Sesko’s valuation at around £88.5 million, slightly below earlier suggestions of a £92.5 million asking price.
Sesko, 21, was previously linked with a move to north London last summer, but talks failed to progress. This time, however, there is a growing belief that a deal is close, with both the player and Arsenal reportedly aligned on personal terms and project ambitions.
With Gyokeres now considered a secondary option, Arsenal are confident that Sesko’s blend of pace, aerial strength, and clinical finishing make him the ideal fit for Arteta’s high-intensity system.
As negotiations advance, the club is also said to be preparing a strong welcome for the striker, signalling their long-term commitment to making Sesko a central figure in their title challenge next season.
