Arteta shares why Arsenal sign players from Chelsea

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has addressed why his side buy players from Chelsea.

Under Arteta, the Gunners have signed six players from Chelsea, with Noni Madueke being the latest to make a switch from Stamford Bridge to Emirate Stadium.

Madueke’s move to Arsenal in a deal worth £52 million stirred reactions from many Gunners fans, who criticised the clubs move for the attacker.

While the winger is the second Chelsea player to join the Gunners this summer, Arsenal had also signed goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Other Chelsea players who have previously completed moves to Arsenal include Jorginho, Kai Havertz and Willian, while they also signed Raheem Sterling on loan last summer.

Arteta while reacting to Arsenal’s interest in Chelsea players said the Blues have good and too many players in their squad.

He, however, said that Gunners are more focused on the players rather than the clubs they were signed from.

Arteta added that it was coincidence that Arsenal have signed six players from Chelsea.

Meanwhile, the Gunners were part of the several clubs that were linked with moves for Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson this summer.

However, recent report revealed that they have dropped their interest in the Senegal internation.
