Arsenal’s summer transfer plans continue to take shape, with sporting director Andrea Berta reportedly informed of the significant fee required to land one of Real Madrid’s standout forwards.

The Gunners are said to maintain a strong interest in Brazilian winger Rodrygo, who is attracting attention across the Premier League.

While a new striker and central midfielder remain Arsenal’s top priorities, Mikel Arteta is also expected to strengthen the wide areas of his squad. With uncertainty surrounding the futures of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, and with 18-year-old Ethan Nwaneri having been relied upon more frequently last season, Arsenal are now evaluating elite-level reinforcements for the flanks.

Rodrygo, 24, is among the players identified as a potential game-changing addition. However, according to Spanish outlet Cadena SER, Real Madrid have set a £77 million price tag for the Brazilian international, and his long-term role under new manager Xabi Alonso remains unclear. Despite being benched at times last season, Rodrygo’s talent continues to make him a hot property in the market.

Arsenal are not alone in their interest — with Manchester City, Chelsea, and Tottenham also monitoring his situation — but the Premier League remains a likely next destination if Rodrygo chooses to move.

Meanwhile, Arsenal could also benefit from a potential West Ham transfer this summer, which may result in a financial windfall due to existing sell-on clauses.

As Berta and Arteta weigh their options, Arsenal’s transfer window looks poised to gather pace in the coming weeks.
