The race to sign Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha is heating up, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and two other Premier League clubs reportedly vying for his signature before the January transfer window closes.

Cunha, who joined Atletico Madrid for £44 million, has been in fine form this season with 10 goals, building on his impressive debut campaign where he netted 14 in all competitions.

The uncertainty surrounding the 25-year-old’s future grew after Wolves manager Vitor Pereira publicly criticized Cunha’s attitude during a recent defeat at Stamford Bridge. Pereira expressed frustration over Cunha’s body language, saying:

I want someone as a captain trying to help the team – running, suffering, fighting together. This is something I can understand. Next time, I will not understand.”

These comments, combined with the stalled contract talks, have fueled speculation that Cunha could leave Molineux, especially with Arsenal and Chelsea expressing strong interest.

Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly eager to bolster their attacking options, while Wolves face the difficult decision of retaining their key player or capitalizing on the mounting interest. As the deadline looms, all eyes will be on Cunha’s next move.
