Chelsea returned to action in their second pre-season game on Saturday when they play Celtic in the US.

The Blues who were held to a draw against Wrexham in their first match, suffered an embarrassing 4-1 defeat against Celtic at Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana.

Goals from Matt O’Reily and Kyogo Furuhashi put Brendan Rodgers’ squad in an early lead in the first half.

Another two goals from Luis Palma and Mikey Johnston after the break was enough for the Scottish champions to win the match.

Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku managed to score a late consolation from the penalty spot for the Blues.

In a post-match statement, the Blues boss, Enzo Maresca revealed some of the areas his team need to improve on after the friendly match.

Maresca pointed out that the Blues need to improve off the ball as they are still confuse on when they need to play short, a little bit longer.

According to the manager, one of the things Chelsea did wrong against Celtic was when the ball was not under pressure, to maintain the high-line.

‘We still confuse some things on and off the ball. For me, it’s normal at this moment,” Maresca added.

The defeat to Celtic has ignited reactions from Chelsea fans.
