Liverpool and Tottenham are reportedly entering the race to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, intensifying competition for Arsenal, who have shown significant interest in the player this summer.

Gyokeres has emerged as one of Europe’s most prolific forwards, scoring 43 goals in 50 appearances for Sporting Lisbon last season.

His impressive performances have drawn the attention of several Premier League clubs, with Liverpool, Tottenham, and Arsenal all seeking to bolster their attacking options.

Arsenal are contemplating a bid between £55 million and £60 million for Gyokeres, despite Sporting Lisbon’s firm stance on his £86 million release clause.

However, a recent report suggests that Arsenal may need to wait for Eddie Nketiah’s departure before any serious negotiations can resume.

As reported by Football Insider, Liverpool and Tottenham have already “made their move” for Gyokeres, adding to the pressure on Arsenal to act quickly.

Additionally, Chelsea has expressed admiration for the former Coventry City player, further complicating Arsenal’s pursuit.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has emphasized the importance of focusing on the development of his current squad.

Ahead of a friendly match against Manchester United in the United States, Arteta stated, “The full focus is on trying to improve these guys and get the best out of them consistently. We know that we have certain parts in the squad that we would like to improve, but that is dictated by the market.”

As the transfer window progresses, the Gunners must navigate this competitive landscape while prioritizing their existing talent.
