Alex Ferguson rates Man Utd summer signings

Manchester United former manager Sir Alex Ferguson has shared his thoughts on the club’s summer signings under Erik ten Hag.

The club so far this summer transfer window have signed the likes of Andre Onana from Inter Milan,  Mason Mount from Chelsea and Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta.

Ferguson in his statement believes Onana, who moved to Old Trafford from Inter Milan, is very athletic.

“Erik ten Hag has done a fantastic job,” Ferguson told NBC Sports.

“He is grabbed it, he’s brought his own players in, I think that was important.

“If he gets the new centre-forward [Hojlund] ready quickly, they will be a really good side. Because that is what they have really lacked in the last few years, a top centre-forward.

“The rest of the team is very good. There are great, experienced defenders in Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.”

He added, “Christian Eriksen and Casemiro in the midfield. There is a foundation there. That is always completed by the goalkeeper and the centre-forward.

“The new goalkeeper is very athletic and we hope the new centre-forward is fit quickly.”
