A new defender for Maresca? Chelsea approaches Nottingham Forest

The summer transfer window has been a busy one for Chelsea especially as they plan to bolster their squad under new manager Enzo Maresca.

According to the recent reports, Chelsea who want boost their defence ahead of next season are said to have approached Nottingham Forest defender, Murillo, who cost £50 million.

Following Brazil star Thiago Silva’s exit from the club this summer, Chelsea have been on the search for a worthy replacement.

The Blues were linked with a move for Boca Juniors’ highly rated defender Aaron Anselmino.

Chelsea want to sign a defender who can immediately challenge for a first-team spot and Murillo fits the club’s profile after an impressive debut season at Nottingham Forest.

A report via Brazilian outlet UOL claimed the West London club have now approached Nottingham Forest to discuss a deal for Murillo.

But Forest want £50 million as tranfer fee for the 21-year-old centre-back.

However, the reports further disclosed that Chelsea have told Nottingham Forest that they will not match their valuation but are considering offering two players as part of their bid in order to offset the transfer fee.
