Ten Hag wishes Man Utd had signed this Arsenal star

Amid Man Utd woes this season, their manager Erik ten Hag believe the season may have been different if they had signed English midfielder Declan Rice ahead of Arsenal.

Rice, who joined the North London club in the summer from West Ham has become one of Mikel Arteta’s most important players.

The England star has featured in all 36 of the Gunners’ Premier League games and impressed in each game.

Rice impressive performance at Emirates Stadium has been duly recognised as he was among the players shortlisted for the Premier League player of the year award on Thursday.

Recall that the Gunners faced competition from Manchester City in the battle to sign Rice in the sunmer.

Ten Hag has now suggested he wished his the Red Devils were also involved in the transfer tussle.

When the Dutch manager was asked about Rice as a player and whether he would have liked him in his Man United squad, Ten Hag responded by saying the midfielder is a very good player and would absolutely have fitted at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag’s comment comes ahead of Man Utd’s game against Arsenal this weekend at Old Trafford.

His side head to the game after their defeat to Crystal Palace.
