Former Newcastle United star Alan Shearer in a recent statement has said Arsenal player Gabriel Jesus has been looking sharp following his return to the team after injury.

Recall that Jesus sustained a knee injury while on international duty with Brazil’s national team last December, which made Arsenal sign Leandro Trossard from Brighton & Hove Albion in January.

At the start of the 2023/24 season, the Brazilian was sidelined again for a brief period after undergoing knee surgery.

He, however, returned to first-team action and played in all of Arsenal’s last four games across competitions.

The Brazil star was handed his first start of the season in the UEFA Champions League group-stage opener against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday.

He scored a goal as the Gunners thrashed PSV 4-0 at Emirates Stadium.

“He [Jesus] is back, he is looking sharp, he is looking fresh, and I think Arsenal have got a really, really good squad,” Shearer told ‘The Rest is Football’ podcast (h/t HITC).

Jesus is likely to return to action when Arsenal host Tottenham this weekend in a Premier League derby.
