The signature of Ben White by Arsenal has proved that the gunners mean business in the transfer window but they’ve failed to convince Seria A side, Lazio, to sell their star forward, Joaquin Correa.

Arsenal have been linked with Correa ever since the transfer window opened reports claimed he wants a new challenge.

However, Arsenal reportedly offered €20m (£17m) for the Argentine attacker earlier this summer but were told by Lazio that the bid was ‘inadequate’.

Corriere dello Sport reported that Arsenal recently approached Lazio with an offer of €20m (£17m) but were informed that it would not be enough to secure his signature.

This is coming just days after another report claimed that I Biancocelesti value Correa in the region of €30m (£25.7m).

Arsenal is not the only club linked with. Correa as he has also been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Paris Saint-Germain.

The Argentina forward was in action for his country at this summer’s Copa America, still has three years left to run on his contract in Rome.

Correa has scored 30 goals and registered 18 assists in 117 outings for his Lazio in all competition. Last season, he scored 11 goals and assisted six times in 38 appearances.
