Arsenal are reportedly willing to go head to head with Tottenham Hotspur over the signature of Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Takehiro Tomiyasu has caught the eye of clubs in Europe with his performance and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly on the verge of completing his signature.

According to reports, the Japan international was on the brink of completing a move to Spurs last month but things got completed after he went to feature at the Olympic.

Tottenham Hotspur have been forced to look elsewhere as they finally got a new man in Cristian Romero who was announced as a Tottenham player on Friday following his arrival from Atalanta BC.

Though Tottenham Hotspur are tipped to renew their interest in Tomiyasu, a new report from Corriere dello Sport claim that Arsenal are also in talks with the 22-year-old’s camp over a possible move.

The report also stated that Bologna want Tomiyasu’s situation to be resolved by August 20 at the latest.

There reports claiming that the player’s representatives are simply aiming to secure the centre-back a Premier League move, whether it be to Arsenal, Spurs or elsewhere.
