Mike Arteta reveals Arsenal’s plan for transfer deadline day
Arsenal are currently the biggest spender in the transfer window as Mikel Arteta tend to build a team capable of contending for titles.
However, their season has not started the way everyone would have predicted as Arsenal are yet to gain a point in the Premier League, losing their first two matches.
Though they won their Carabao Cup clash against Championship side, West Brom, Arsenal are set to face another uphill task when they travel to Manchester City this weekend.
Mikel Arteta during his press conference ahead of the match was asked about his plans for the transfer window with some linked with a move away from the club.
With Arsenal already spending over £100million, Arteta was asked if he will sell some players to recoup some funds for the club.
Reacting to the question, Arteta stated that he will see what happens in the next few days.
According to Arteta, everything that Arsenal done is because they can do it, and what they’ve planned to do depends as well on the next decisions that they make.
Asked if has long for a summer where he will be backed by the board, Arteta stated that the club analyse the situation and the position that they were in and they had to make big decisions.
Arteta stated that those decisions that have been made with the technical part, with the board, with the financial guys that are involved with ownership, and then they support that plan.
He added that it’s a decision that was made a few months ago about how to move the club forward, the time that that would take, and the advantage that that would have medium and long term.
