He needs a bit time – Arsenal’s technical director defends under-fire Arteta
Mikel Arteta is currently feeling the heat at Arsenal but the club’s technical director Edu has jumped to his defence claiming the Spaniard needs more time.
Arsenal have not started the new season well, losing their first three matches to Brentford, Chelsea and Manchester City.
The London club have also failed to register a goal, conceding nine goals in what has become their worst start to a season in a decade.
This has led to fans and pundits calling for a change at the club but Edu during an interview with Sky Sport insisted that Spaniard needs time.
Edu stated that he respects all the pressure as he came in from Corinthians and then the Brazilian national team where there is unbelievable pressure, just as here.
The former Arsenal player noted that he understands the fans and understand the reason and he accepts that but the club will need a bit of time to do what they plan to do.
Edu noted that he knows this type of work, when the board are talking about signings, and needing patience hurts Arsenal fans a lot, but it is the reality.
He added that that’s why when he say to you we have to create a good foundation and to create a good foundation you need time.
