Coward: Haaland slammed by former Arsenal star after 2-2 draw
Former Arsenal star Ian Wright has lashed out at Man City star Erling Haaland, calling him a “coward” after his actions towards the end of Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with the Gunners on Sunday.
John Stones secured a late equalizer in the 98th minute to get a point for Man City at the Etihad Stadium.
A win against the Citizens would have seen the Gunners go top of the Premier League table, after playing the entire second half with 10 men.
Minutes after the match, tempers flared as Haaland was spotted telling Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to “stay humble.”
The Norwegian was then picked up by cameras throwing the ball at Gabriel after Stones’ equaliser.
Wright in a reaction via an Instagram video said, “It’s 2-1. And I’m thinking ‘yes, we’ve got them.”
The former Arsenal staf was also reacted to players being sent off for something that is foolish as they shouldn’t be sent off for that.
Wright singled out Haaland’s action, stressing that it made him boil up, refering to the striker’s coward’s move.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will return to action this week in the EFL when they face Bolton, while City will play against Watford in the same tournament.
