Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed worry about the club’s summer signing Jurrien Timber.

This comes after Jurrien went off injured during his team’s Premier League opener against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The match which was a win for Arsenal saw them defeat Nottingham Forest 2-1 in their first Premier League game of the season at Emirate Stadium.

With two goals from Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah, the Gunners were able to win all three points in their first match.

However, a highlight from the match showed the moment Timber went down hurt after making a challenge.

Despite the clash, he managed to remain on the pitch until half-time and he was unable to continue after sustaining an injury without any contact after the second half started.

Arteta had to bring in Takehiro Tomiyasu to replace the Dutch defender.

In a post-match statement, Arteta confirmed that he was unsure of whether Timber suffered a major injury or not.

Arteta said (as quoted by talkSPORT): “I need to speak with the doctors and understand what happened, but he had a really weird movement as soon as he came on the pitch.

“So, I don’t know,” he added.
