Arsenal Target Real Madrid’s Andriy Lunin Amid Summer Transfer Plans: Report
Arsenal are reportedly poised to capitalize on Real Madrid’s wealth of talent by targeting one of their key players from the recent La Liga and Champions League double-winning campaign.
The Gunners are expected to be active in the summer transfer market, seeking quality additions to bolster their squad and challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.
While a striker remains a top priority, Arsenal has also been linked with wingers, defensive midfielders, and full-backs. Now, according to a report from Spain, they are also eyeing a goalkeeper.
Andriy Lunin, who made 31 appearances for Real Madrid this season due to Thibaut Courtois’ knee injuries, is on Arsenal’s radar.
Lunin played in all of Madrid’s Champions League knockout matches before Courtois’ return for the final. Despite being offered a new contract extending until 2029, Lunin’s relationship with coach Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly strained.
With one year left on his current deal, Lunin is looking to secure his future post-Euro 2024, attracting interest from several top European clubs, including Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are set to finalize the permanent transfer of goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford but may need a replacement for Aaron Ramsdale, who is reportedly seeking regular first-team football elsewhere.
