Arsenal suffer another injury blow after Saka
Arsenal may have reason to be worried ahead of the resumption of club football come this weekend.
According to the recent update from Brazil, Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli have been confirmed to be undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with a muscle injury.
Recall that the Gunners winger entered October’s international break with top form, scoring two goals and creating two assists in the Gunners’ final three Premier League matchs before joining up with the Brazil squad.
He was in action for Brazil for five minutes against Chile last week.
Brazil are set to play against Peru in a World Cup qualifier on Wednesday but Martinelli is now unlikely to be available after sustaining an injury.
The Brazil national team in a statement said Martinelli complained of pain in his right calf and underwent an MRI on Sunday night which showed a small area of muscle edema in the area.
Martinelli will now continue to undergo physiotherapy treatment under the care of the Brazilian National Team’s Medical Department.
This is coming after Bukayo Saka sustained injury with England.
While the Three Lions interim boss Lee Carsley suggested that Saka’s injury was not serious, but he would still have to prove his fitness ahead of Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth.
Kai Havertz also suffered knee injury while on duty for Germany, while defenders Jurrien Timber and Ben White have both been battling fitness issues in recent times.
