Valencia remain hopeful of keeping defender Cristhian Mosquera this summer, despite growing interest from Arsenal.

The Gunners are actively searching for a new centre-back and have shown strong intent in their pursuit of the 21-year-old. Mosquera played a key role for Valencia during the 2024/25 season, helping the team secure a solid mid-table finish after a difficult start to the campaign.

Valencia are fully aware of the defender’s value, with a £77.5 million release clause included in his contract. Alongside Arsenal, both AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are also keeping a close eye on his situation.

However, Arsenal appear to be leading the race. Reports suggest Mikel Arteta has been encouraged by Mosquera’s apparent interest in a move to the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal are said to have acted swiftly, submitting two offers as they push to secure the talented defender.

Despite Arsenal’s efforts, Valencia remain confident they can convince Mosquera to stay, particularly given his importance to their defensive plans.

Talks over a potential deal continue, with reports indicating that Arsenal have already outlined a financial package in line with Valencia’s demands.

As interest in Mosquera grows, Arsenal are expected to step up their efforts in the coming days as they aim to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new season.
