Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League this season has suffered a setback as they returned to action after the international break.

The North London club missed the opportunity to go top of the Premier League after they suffered a shock 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth in Saturday’s late kick-off at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal’s recent loss to Bournemouth saw their unbeaten start to the campaign come to an end.

The highlight of the game was when manager Mikel Arteta’s squad went down to 10 men in the first half after William Saliba was sent off for a last-man tackle.

With Saliba out, it was a plus for the Cherries, who took full advantage of their superior numbers in the second half.

Bournemouth won all three points against the North London club thanks to efforts from Ryan Christie, who hammered in the opener.

Before Justin Kluivert added the second from the penalty spot after Jakub Kiwior’s under-hit-back pass led to David Raya tripping Evanilson.

The recent outcome still put Arsenal in the third place with 17 points from eight fixtures.

Arsenal will now have to focus on their next game and hopefully bounce back with a win as the season return fully.
