All eyes on Liverpool: Guardiola says title race not between Arsenal and Man City
Man City manager Pep Guardiola has reacted to his side recent victory against Brighton on Thursday night.
The Citizens who are the current Premier League champions defeated Brighton in a 4-0 scoreline.
The recent win saw them earn three points taking them up to 76 points, one behind the Gunners.
Man City still have a chance to unseat the Gunners as the champions have one game in hand.
While many football lovers have focused their attention on Man City and Arsenal as favourites to win the title this campaign, a few observers including Guardiola have refused to rule Liverpool out of the race.
Recall that the Reds led by Jürgen Klopp suffered a 2-0 defeat at Everton, which left them on 74 points.
Guardiola believes Man City and Arsenal could still stumble like Liverpool in their next few games.
A look at the next matches before the end of the season showed the only tough opponents left for the three main contenders to face is Tottenham Hotspur s.
As of now Arsenal are the toppers and hope to win the title this season after narrowly losing it to Man City last season.
Man City on the other hand would hope to maintain their dominance in the league while Liverpool will be looking forward to winning the title as a parting gift for Klopp who will exit the club at the end of the season.
“Title race is not only between us and Arsenal.
“What happened to Liverpool, two defeats in a row, it can happen to Arsenal, it can happen to us,” Guardiola said.
