Premier League outfit Liverpool will not be having the opportunity of reuniting with their former playmaker, Philippe Coutinho, as he makes a u-turn on his future at Barcelona.

Coutinho, who is currently recovering from knee surgery, has been strongly linked with a move away from Camp Nou ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.

Liverpool are reportedly one of the clubs willing to sign him as they believe he can replicate his best form under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp.

Inter Milan, Leicester City and AC Milan are also linked with the Brazilian midfielder, but Barcelona’s head coach Ronald Koeman is happy to count on him next season.

According to ESPN, Barcelona are not prepared to allow Coutinho to leave on the cheap this summer and will not sanction a loan exit.

The report claims that Coutinho could therefore be handed another chance at Barcelona as he tends to put the past behind him.

This will come as a big blow for Liverpool who are willing to replace Wijnaldum who left the club this summer to join Paris Saint-Germain.
