Chelsea reportedly blocked young midfielder Billy Gilmour from making a move to another club during the transfer window despite the fact he’s been struggling for game time.

Billy Gilmour broke to the first team under Frank Lampard last season as he put in some impressive performance during cup competitions where he was mostly used.

A knee injury cut this season short for him but he has continued his good form after coming back from injury.

The sacking of Frank Lampard as Chelsea’s manager saw top clubs vying for his signature as they hope to sign him on six-month loan deal.

Premier League teams likes West Ham United and Southampton were linked with a move for the young Scotman but none were able to convince Chelsea towards signing him

According to football.london Chelsea blocked any loan bid from clubs ahead of the final day of the transfer window, on Monday.

Southampton were reported to be ahead of other clubs in his pursuit but Chelsea were reluctant as they were willing to give Tuchel everything he needs to excel at the club.
