Former Manchester United assistant manager, Benni McCarthy, has come for manager Erik ten Hag amid the Red Devils woeful performance.

McCarthy, who left Old Trafford last season, claimed Ten Hag lacked passion or charisma.

Recall that McCarthy and Ten Hag led the Red Devils to win the FA Cup against Manchester City in the final last season.

The victory was believed to be the main reason Man United did not sack Ten Hag.

However, Ten Hag is now faced with intense pressure following an embarrassing 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham last Sunday.

McCarthy in a statement via Zero Zero spoke about why the Dutchman could be failing at Old Trafford, stressing that he lacked passion.

The former assistant coach also spoke about Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Man Utd, stating that Ten Hag wasted the Portuguese star’s time back with the Red Devils.

According to McCarthy, Man Utd should have work together and then let Ronaldo do what he needed to do in his position as the best in the world.

He opined that Manchester United wasted a great opportunity to use Ronaldo in the right way.

“But I was not the head coach and I could not be the one to make those decisions,” he added.
