Spanish star returns to Man Utd training early in a bid to fight for number one spot

Manchester United Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea has reported to the club pre-season training two weeks ahead of schedule.

David De Gea was part of the Spain squad that played at Euro 2020, but the former Atletico Madrid failed to appear in the competition.

The 30-year-old was the second choice for La Roja during the tournament, and there are reports that he could lose his spot at Manchester United to Dean Henderson.

In a bid to keep fit and fight for first-team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer next season, De Gea has now arrived for pre-season.

The likes of Paul Pogba and Burno Fernades, who appeared at the competition, are yet to report for preseason.

De Gea lost his place in the United team last season after being granted a month’s leave by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be with his wife for the birth of their child.

Manchester United are willing to win the Premier League next season after finishing second last time out, and Solskjaer will want to have the best goalkeeper in goal
