Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea will not be leaving the club this summer, popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano is reporting.

De Gea’s future at United have been under the spotlight ever since the transfer window opened after he fell out of favour at times last season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper was forced to play as second goalkeeper in the later part of last season with Dean Henderson preferred as the first choice goalkeeper.

This move saw De Gea limited to 26 appearances in the Premier League for the Red Devils.

De Gea also failed to appear for Spain at Euro 2020 with the experience goalkeeper preferred as second choice.

Despite this, Romano has insisted that De Gea will continue to play for United this season as no club are willing to sign the Spaniard.

Speaking on the Here We Go podcast last week stated that David De Gea is staying at Manchester United because his salary is the problem.
