Manchester United are starting their pre-season games with a shocking 1-0 defeat to Rosenborg in their first fixture on Monday.

The match was close to ending on a goalless draw before Noah Holm found the back of the net from the centre of the field with what proved to be the last kick.

While most of the Red Devils senior players were unavailable due to their participation in the Euro 24, Man United manager Erik ten Hag was able to feature regulars like Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, Mason Mount and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the match.

Czechia keeper Radek Vítek tried his best to keep Rosenborg out until Holm’s winner, as Man United were outshot 22-5.

The Red Devils’ team will continue their preseason preparations with another match, which is a friendly against Rangers on July 20.

They will then play against Arsenal who finish second on the EPL table last season and Real Betis during their US tour.

Meanwhile, the recent loss to Rosenborg is a blow on Man Utd and their manager Ten Hag, who was close to being sacked from the club last season.

Ten Hag managed to keep his job after he was able to end the season with a trophy by defeating their neighbours Man City in the FA cup finals.
