Manchester United speaks on Rangnick’s future at Old Trafford

It is the end of the road for Man Utd interim manager Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford.

This comes as the Red Devils have confirmed that Rangnick would no longer be taking a consultancy role at the club.

Man Utd in an official statement revealed that the 63-year-old German will face his new role with Austria solely.

Recall that Rangnick was made an interim manager at Old Trafford in November following the sack of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but he was unable to save their season.

Man Utd finished sixth on the EPL table, with their lowest points tally (58), and they also failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League, as they would be playing in the Europa League instead.

“We would like to thank Ralf Rangnick for his efforts as interim manager over the past six months.

“By mutual agreement, Ralf will now focus solely on his new role as manager of the Austria national team and will not, therefore, be taking up a consultancy role at Old Trafford,” an official club statement said.
