Manchester United Receive Boost on Bayern Munich Duo Transfers
Bayern Munich has reportedly indicated that they are open to letting go of Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Kimmich this summer, offering a potential boost to Manchester United’s transfer plans.
The Red Devils are eyeing a centre-back and a central midfielder in the upcoming transfer window, with De Ligt and Kimmich emerging as targets for the English giants.
German journalist Florian Plettenberg suggests that Bayern is in urgent need of sales to bolster their squad for the 2024-25 season. Consequently, the club has placed six players, including De Ligt and Kimmich, on the transfer list, alongside Leon Goretzka, Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry, and Noussair Mazraoui.
Although Manchester United previously pursued De Ligt in 2019, he opted to join Juventus before moving to Bayern. With three years remaining on his contract, the Netherlands international is seen as a valuable asset by Bayern, who may seek a substantial transfer fee for him.
Kimmich, on the other hand, has been a pivotal figure for Bayern, contributing significantly to his performances. Despite interest from other English clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City, Manchester United’s pursuit of Kimmich could hinge on the transfer fee, considering his age and contract situation.
While both players present intriguing options for Manchester United, negotiations may revolve around price, especially with Kimmich’s contract expiring next summer. Nevertheless, their availability offers Manchester United a significant opportunity to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
