Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has reacted to his two consecutive red cards in two different tournaments for the Red Devils.

Fernandes, who appreciated Manchester United fans for their support, described the season as “one of the hardest” moments of his career after he was handed two red cards in consecutive games.

Recall that the Portugal international who is also Man Utd captain was sent off for a challenge on James Maddison in the 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

While the suspension was later overturned on appeal, he was dismissed for the second game running when he picked up a second booking in the 3-3 draw with Porto in the Europa League on Thursday.

In an Instagram post, Fernandes admitted he has been disappointed with his performance in recent weeks and is keen to turn things around for Man Utd amid their woeful run this season.

The Red Devils captain is rated one of the Premier League’s best midfielders, having started his time at Old Trafford in incredible goalscoring form.

However, he is yet to score in the EPL this season and could be the centre of attention when Man Utd play against Aston Villa before they head to the international break.
