Man Utd linked with moves for Japanese goalkeeper

Italian Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has confirmed the transfer link between Man United and Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki.

Romano revealed the Red Devils are working on a deal that would see them sign Suzuki this summer.

He, however, stressed that Suzuki’s signing is not the Red Devils’ priority currently.

This is because Man Utd are focused on signing Inter Milan’s Andre Onana as a replacement for their now former number one goalkeeper David De Gea who left this summer.

Suzuki could be a backup goalkeeper at Old Trafford once the deal for Onana is done.

Romano hinted that the Japanese is one of the three names being considered for the backup role at Old Trafford.

The transfer expert in a tweet via his Twitter handle, wrote, “Manchester United are working on Zion Suzuki deal. Japanese goalkeeper is one of 3 options as backup GK and talks are now taking place on player side. No talks yet with Urawa Reds as Man United are busy with André Onana deal being completed.”
