Man Utd considering this manager as Ten Hag’s replacement
Manchester United are in the news once again as they are yet linked to another manager.
A recent report has disclosed that the Red Devils are considering former Barcelona head coach, Xavi Hernandez, as a potential target if they decide to sack manager Erik ten Hag.
A report via the Mail Sport disclosed that Man United intermediaries have made contact with Xavi twice in the last few months.
There are reports that a four-man delegation led by chief executive Omar Berrada flew to Spain last Thursday.
However, the reports from Old Trafford insist that a number of high-level meetings have taken place in Barcelona recently, because co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been there to support Ineos Britannia sailing team in their battle with New Zealand for the America’s Cup.
It has also fuelled speculation that Xavi could be considered if Ten Hag is sacked after two-and-half years in charge.
Meanwhile, Xavi had made it clear that he doesn’t want to coach in the Spanish La Liga again, which is a boost for Man Utd.
Recall that the Red Devils were previously linked to former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel before he chose to become England’s new permanent coach
