Italian side Lazio were among the clubs who were linked with moves for Man Utd forward Mason Greenwood, but it looks like it wouldn’t be happening.

This comes as Lazio president, Claudio Lotito, admitted that the club failed in their bid to sign Mason Greenwood on loan from Manchester United last year.

A report via Lotito has now claimed the Serie A side would be signing a striker “10 times better than Mason Greenwood”.

It was reported that the transfer to sign Greenwood fell through in the summer of 2023, as the paperwork was not completed in time.

Greenwood, however, ended up moving to Getafe on loan and was named the La Liga club’s Player of the Season.

The Red Devils have decided to sell Greenwood this summer fixing his price tags at £40 million.

It was reported that Lazio offered a deal worth £16.9million plus a 50% sell-on clause, which was rejected by Man United.

Lazio are now on the search for new player to sign in place of Greenwood.

Meanwhile, Marseille are considered favourite to sign the Man Utd forward as recent reports claim they are in advance talks with the Red Devils to sign the Englishman this summer transfer window.
