There are new indications that Mason Greenwood could still play for Manchester United as he has now returned to the club.

This comes after reports emerged that the club’s leading sponsor, Adidas, is contemplating approving plans for him to return to the squad.

Greenwood has not made any appearance for the Red Devils since January 2022, after he was charged with rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault.

However, while the charges were dropped in February, the 21-year-old has remained under suspension by Man United, who are conducting an internal investigation.

He has now returned to the team as he was recently spotted in private training sessions with manager Erik ten Hag who had reportedly spoken to the player on several occasions.

A report via The Sun revealed Man United have discussed the possibility of Greenwood’s return with shirt sponsor Adidas, with those conversations described as “positive”.

It is thought that assurances from Adidas could see other sponsors follow suit.
