Former Man Utd star told to consider replacing Amorim
Former Man Utd star Gary Neville has been urged to consider making a return to football management.
This comes as Former Match of the Day host, Des Lynam tipped Neville to replace manager Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.
According to Lynam, Neville remains the best man to take up the Red Devils’ job despite his last managerial post ending in March 2016.
Man Utd’s form has become so bad that Amorim admitted few a days ago that the current team may be one of the worst in the club’s history.
But Lynam believes Neville can bring the needed change at Man Utd
“Neville would still be the best man for the job,” he wrote in a column for The Telegraph.
Man United’s poor form has continued this season despite the arrival of a new manager.
The Red Devils are currently at the 13th position in the Premier League table ahead of their match with Fulham on Sunday.
Neville is now a pundit for Sky Sports. He retired as a professional footballer back in 2011.
He worked four years as a coach with Roy Hodgson’s England side before accepting to coach Spanish La Liga club Valencia.
He also managed Valencia where he won just three of his 16 league games before he was sacked after less than four months he arrived at the club.
Neville has since focused on being a pundit.
