Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has reacted to his first win for his new club and how fans treated him.

Amorim in a statement said he would never forget the welcome he got from the Red Devils’ fans during the 3-2 win over Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.

Recall that Amorim took charge of his first home fixture on Thursday night as he oversaw a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town last Sunday.

Alejandro Garnacho scored the lead goal for the Red Devils in the first minute, before Bodo/Glimt turned the game with two goals from Hakon Evjen and Filip Zinckernagel in four first-half minutes.

Rasmus Hojlund’s brace came to the rescue, sealing a first win for Amorim.

Amorim in a statement via TNT said the Red Devils fans made him felt special despite barely just signing for the club.

Speaking on his side’s performance, Amorim said they started well but then conceded two goals in transitions.

“Sometimes we won the ball and have had problems in the past giving the ball away too much – the mindset is keeping the ball. They are really trying and I think we deserved the win,” he added.
