Man Utd were in action on Saturday afternoon after they hosted Aston Villa in the premier league.

The game, which was expected to be an easy win for the Red Devils, saw them suffered a defeat against Aston Villa.

The game ended in a 1-0 win for Aston Villa as the Red Devils lost all three points.

One of the highlights from the match was the penalty taken by Bruno Fernandes instead of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Recall that Kortney Hause headed in a corner before giving away a late penalty, as referee Mike Dean penalised him for handball.

Although Ronaldo was on the pitch, Fernandes took responsibility and fired the ball into the stands, losing an equaliser for Man Utd.

Many were left wondering why Ronaldo was not allowed to take the penalty instead, but when the Red Devils manager, Ole Solskjaer Gunner, was asked if Fernandes was the first choice to take the spot-kick, he told Sky Sports: “Yes. The decision was made before the game.”

Man Utd latest defeat leaves them in fourth place with 13 points.

The Red Devils will hope to bounce back in the UCL when they face Villarreal in their next match.
