Former Man Utd striker Anthony Martial has completed a transfer to AEK Athens this season.

Recall that the France international exited Old Trafford in June, after he was not offered an extended contract.

He became a free agent in the summer, with several clubs said to be interested in signing the experienced attacker.

Recent update has now revealed he has completed a transfer to the Greek football league where he will now play for AEK Athens.

The Greek side have also confirmed Martial’s arrival on social media, while Man United also released a statement wishing the Frenchman luck in the next stage of his career.

Recall that Martial joined Man United from French side AS Monaco in 2015, and he made 317 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 90 goals and creating 47 assists..

Martial’s best goalscoring season was in 2019-20, when he scored 23 goals in all competitions, but he was restricted to just 19 appearances last season due to injury, and a disappointing season that saw him score just two goals.

He is expected to get more game time in his new club and could make his debut in Greece this weekend when AEK Athens take on Athens Kallithea.
