Despite defeat to Villarreal, Man Utd will keep Ole

There are indications that Man Utd will be keeping their coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjare at Old Trafford even though they lost to the Spanish club, Villarreal in the UEFA Europa League.

There have been calls by Man Utd fans to the club to sack Ole but the latest report revealed that the Red Devils hierarchy led by Ed Woodward would be signing a new deal with Ole that could see him remain at Old Trafford for another three years.

Recall that Ole joined Man Utd in 2018 temporarily to replace Jose Mourinho. He was however handed a permanent deal in 2019 and has remained their coach ever since then.

With the 48-year-old having one year left on the current contract, the UK Telegraph reported revealed that Man United have decided to extend his stay, despite his failure to win any silverware during his time.

Solskjaer’s led Man Utd squad had the chance to break that duck but lost to Villarreal 11-10 on penalties in Gdansk on Wednesday night.

It looks like Ole’s belief in the youngsters at Old Trafford is part of the reason they want to keep him at the club.

We will have to wait till the summer transfer window to see the new deal that will be handed to Ole.
