Man Utd midfielder and Portugal international Bruno Fernandes has made a vow to return stronger after he lost a penalty against Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Recall that Man Utd hosted Aston Villa in their EPL match over the weekend in a game that ended in their first defeat of the season.

The Red Devils got the opportunity in the form of a penalty kick to equalise in the match, but Fernandes lost the penalty, thus making the Red Devils lose all three points.

Reacting to his penalty loss Fernandes has vowed to return stronger for the Red Devils.

In a lengthy post via his Instagram account, he wrote that nobody was more frustrated and disappointed than him for missing the penalty and the consequent defeat.

Part of his statement read, “I’ve always assumed my responsibilities and I’ve always embraced them under pressure in moments like this. Today, I failed. But I took a step forward and faced the challenge with the same ambition and responsibility as when, on the many other occasions, the ball ended up in the net.

“Criticism and contrasting opinions are a big part of football. I’ve learned to live with it, even using them to drive me on, and I consider it all a very important part of my commitment to never stop trying to improve and to become the best player I can possibly be, for me and the team.
